John’s gospel is one of the most beloved books of the Bible. It tells the story of Jesus in a very different way to the other gospels, being built around seven signs (miracles done by Jesus to show who he is), seven sayings (claims made by Jesus about himself that start with ‘I AM’, referencing the divine name from Exodus 3:14) and seven witnesses who testify to who Jesus is. The whole book is about him and if written so we may believe and have eternal life (John 20:30-31).

This preaching series is designed to shine a light on who Jesus is by going through John’s gospel. It is a long series and though it doesn’t include every single verse in the gospel, it does go slowly through the book and will take the best part of a year to preach through. If you prefer shorter series, you may want to split the series in chunks and intersperse some other series in between.
