Practical Faith: Preaching Series on James

10 Lessons

James is one of the earliest letters of the New Testament and is one of the most practical books in the Bible. It was written by James the half-brother of Jesus, and his purpose is to help Christians live our their faith. There is more to faith than just intellectual belief in God or accepting a set of doctrinal propositions. True faith is shown in the way we live, and in this letter James explores many different areas of life looking at the difference faith makes. Because of the way it moves so quickly between topics, it has sometimes been called a New Testament equivalent to the book of Proverbs.

This preaching series goes through the whole letter over the course of 10 sermons, and is a great choice to help establish foundations in new believers as well as challenging those who have been following Christ for a while.
