Acts and Antioch

The final session brings everything together – the mission of God, the priority of the church, and the pioneering pattern of Jesus – and shows how the early believers lived it out. After Pentecost the Jerusalem church was extraordinary, vibrant, growing and Spirit-filled. And for several chapters, they mostly stayed put. This session traces what it took to get the gospel moving: persecution that scattered ordinary believers who preached wherever they went, Paul with his driven vision for the unreached place, and Antioch, the church that became the model for every church planting movement since. Along the way we discover that what the apostles did wasn’t innovative but was exactly what they’d already seen Jesus do.
